I use a ShopVac on my laminate floors. It picks up everything from dust to pet hair to liquid. I can do cobwebs, corners, molding, etc. There is no belt which is why we originally bought it several years ago. Our carpet was so old it had loose threads and the belt would break every single time I vacuumed.
It was around $30 at Fred Meyer's on sale several years ago and it's the smallest one.
