We've gone through 4 or 5 vacs in our 30 years of marriage. I've never found one I really like. We now have a Dyson and it is better than anything we have had in the past. I second every good thing anyone has said about their Dyson. If it breaks, we will just replace it with the same thing. Our last one was a Hoover Wind Tunnel and it was horrible. The dog hair always jammed in the inner parts and we had to constantly take it apart to get out the plug. Also, the filter thing was a pain and emptying the cannister made a mess about every time.
