When a parent, ANY parent, is arrested while doing drugs along w/ their child--I have zero respect for that parent! And Ryan was arrested at least once w/ Redmond.

As to the whole she didn't have to stay with him: They did break up. When she found out her diagnosis is when they became a couple again (if memory serves correct). When a person is faced w/ a potentially fatal diagnosis, they may not make clear headed decisions--further, they may turn to a person who offers them what appears to be support. Sometimes when you are sick, you just want people who will tell you what you want to hear around....
