I haven't read much on it lately, but I have heard over the years they'd get together and break up. He obviously was a scumbag she needed to cut out of her life many years ago. His behavior now is most likely nothing new; not a surprise. She never had to go back with him any of the times. She had cancer the last few years, not the last 15. So yes, she allowed him to treat her the way he did. If they had dated the last 6 or 7 years and just broke up before her cancer came out and THEN got back togethr, yes, then I'd agree with your statement. But her lack of "clear headed decisions" in regards to a man and/or men have been going on for a long time. They met in the 80's, I think. That's over 20 years ago!
It's nothing new he treated her like crap. She started allowing it years ago - LONG before she ever had cancer. She just ended up with him yet again for another dose of scumbag.
