I am sorry your dog is not feeling well. It almost sounds neurological in nature from what you describe. Maybe a pinched nerve? I am no expert though.

There are organizations out there that will help with vet bills. I don't have the names in front of me but if you google "Help with vet bills" it should produce something. Just be forwarned that a lot of agencies are out of money because of the economy. And all shelters are running at capacity so there likely isn't much money to go around.

Another option you can try is a breed specific rescue, in your case Dalmation rescues. Sometimes they are willing to help breed owners when they can't pay for medical costs or they know vets in your area who may help. Also they are familiar with issues from that breed and maybe able to tell you that your dogs problem is a common issue and you need to do this....

You can google Dalmation forums and find breed specific boards with people who can point you in the right direction of a good breed rescue that maybe able to help you.

I do a lot of animal rescue work. I mainly work with cats but I know dogs have the same networking system we do. Someone in one of the circles will be able to advise you better.

Be aware that yes a lot will suggest you surrender the animal. Most shelters are not authorized to care for animals unless the animal has been surrenedered. That is normal. Sometimes it doesn't make sense as to why they would ask you to do that but in the long run if they paid the medical care for other peoples animals they would have no money for the animals they have in the shelter. A lot of shelters work off of grant money from the state and donations when that money runs out it is gone.

Good Luck, I hope you are able to help your baby.

This list is from the Humane Society. It lists State by State options for pet care. You might have to scroll down.
