I started my period when I was 10 also. It was HORRIBLE the last few years I had it. I bled so heavy with huge clots I could not even leave the house. Finally, after so many years of being anemic the recommended a hysterectomy. One year ago(June 27th--day after my 43rd B-day) I had my surgery. No more periods and LOVING it but I will still say I am still very anemic. Now they are looking into other causes. My 8 year old daughter talks about getting her period all the time and I tell her she can wait. She is already showing signs of following in my early footsteps. We actually had to buy her little bras(because she needs them) and she has a couple of armpit and other hair. I just hate for her to have to go through all the stuff we have all been through and hated. As far as the ablation, one OB recommended it but my NEW ob said it is not to stop periods just lighten them--so research it.
