I live in Michigan, about 10 miles inland from Lake Michigan. The summers are warm, the spring lasts about 3 days, fall is my favorite and lasts about 2-3 months. And then there's winter. I live in the lake-effect snow belt. 20 inches of snow at one time is not at all unheard of here. We usually have way over 100 inches of snow a year. I've lived here all my life, so I've learned to live with it. At least we don't get the bitter cold that some of our neighboring states get.

I live in a rural area and love that. I grew up on a farm, and live next door to that farm now. People are friendly and helpful. The scenery is beautiful.
