I live in Central Florida. I love the weather, the close proximity to Disney World, the interesting birds and animals we have, the lakes and the glorious sunsets. I could live without the severe weather. No hurricanes since we moved here but the occasional really bad thunderstorm and tornado warnings are worrisome.

I'm originally from Massachusetts and our town was named after a town up there. The story goes that a couple came down to visit a friend who settled here back in the 1800's. The wife commented that the town looked a lot like Auburndale, MA and that's how the town got its name.

For a little town, about 12,000 people, it's become a hot spot for college baseball tournaments. There's a large complex about 5 miles from where I live that will be hosting a bunch of them starting in 2010.

There are times I wish I was closer to the Disney area but I love the fact that I don't have to deal with tourist traffic every day.
