I live in New England and I like the seasons, the history, colonial architecture and artifacts, and the fact that so much is accessible within a day trip - ocean beaches, rocky shorelines, mountains, rural areas, covered bridges, cities and their culture, and Boston sports teams. Is there any other part of the US where one can drive through so many states in one day (ME, NH, VT, MA, RI, CT, NY, NJ) ?

Native New Englanders are a little odd though. They have garages but don't partk their cars in them, they never vacation farther than Cape Cod, and customer service is not in the vocabulary.

ETA: Auburndale is near Newton, MA, right?
