I have lived in a town of about 500 people for four years. It's one of the many rural communities in the Eugene, OR area. There is a store, a Post Office and a restaurant/gas station. It's on the way from nowhere to nowhere so there are not many tourists or passers by. We are surrounded by mountains, trees and animals. There is a river across the road. There are about one hundred in town proper and lots more out in the areas surrounding us.

It's the kind of place people drive through on vacation and think "I wonder what kind of people live in this little town?"
I love it here most of the time.
What I don't like is that I will always be an outsider and I also don't like that there is nothing to get involved in or join. I also don't like that there are about ten churches and not one of them is Catholic.
There is no mail delivery if you don't live on the main highway. You are required to get a PO Box.
