No, I wouldn't be concerned if John McCain were delivering the speech just as I'm not concerned about Obama giving the speech.

I asked my son what the president told him (they watched at school) and he said, "I don't know."

What did make a big impact on him though was that the news ticker at the bottom of the screen at some point had the word "rape".

So, was he paying attention to Obama, nope! but the speech may stick with him forever because of the unedited network news scrolling across at the bottom.
