First thing you need to find out is what your state requires from you.

Here in SC, the teacher(parent) needs a high school diploma. The only documents I'm required to keep are attendance records. Also, find out what the college your child thinks they'd like to go to requires for completed courses (i.e. foreign language (1or 2yrs.), how many years of English, etc.).

I use ABeka home school dvd program for both my high school kids. I find ABeka the easiest for them to follow.

As too home school assoc., see if any have a local phone number to call. I found this the easiest way to find a local assoc.
