It sure does! Its about positive reinforcement. When negativity is put out thats what comes back. I think what parents dont understand is when they yell, threaten, bribe and so forth it puts out a negative attitude/energy and the child doesnt know how to respond to that but to dish back the same negative attitude/energy. Then the whole household is in an uproar because the parents are frustrated, the children are frustrated and then everything is out of order. I have seen it way too many times.
On another note: I do have to say that these times are way different from when I was a kid. My friend and I both agree that growing up our parents had the upper hand and there was just no crossing that. Period! We ate what was on the table or we didnt eat. Parents had rules and we followed them or else..
Today's children seem to have the upperhand. I dont understand it all but its something I notice....
