I live in a HOA neighborhood. I don't get into the politics of it all. It seems like there is always some emergency meeting to deal with a compliance issue. But, the rules aren't strict IMO and I believe they protect the value of my home. We have a pool, tennis courts, lots of common areas, play grounds, bike paths, etc. It isn't Stepford by any means, but it isn't Petty Coat Junction either. I like the fact I won't wake up to a neighbor with a camper in the back yard, an above ground pool and 20 kids screaming around, a toilet or bathtub flower planter, or 5 beater cars in the driveway. But, to each their own. Life is all about choices
