I've never been in a situation like this (thank God) but I keep thinking that if I were the "other woman", I wouldn't put much faith in a man who cheats on his wife. That he would basically abandon his commitment to his wife speaks volumes to his lack of character. The mistress can see how her future will unfold -- he'll cheat on her too and most likely not be there for her if the going gets tough. I guess that speaks volumes to her lack of character as well (that she is willing to be with a man like this).
