Please do not send your child back to school too soon!! As a teacher, and a parent, I get highly irritated when we get kids sent back to school when they are really still sick. I can name 20 cases of flu in our small school of 100. If a sibling has it, don't send the other children to school if they are showing any symptoms! It is highly contagious!! We have had several cases where a sibling had H1N1, the parents went ahead and sent the sibling to school, although it was obvious they were not feeling well, and it turned out they had H1N1 as well. Some schools have even resorted to taking a child's temperature first thing when they walk in the door, and again 6 hours later, because it became obvious parents were simply giving the child a fever reducer so they could send them to school. A friend of a friend currently has a child in ICU as a result of H1N1 and there are several other children in ICU with the same thing!
