It is very scarey. I worked for this year for the Census as an enumerator in KY. A couple times I ran into a some strange people that scared me a bit. Good thing is I did not have to make contact with people. I just had to map spot in thier addresses. I did however have to knock on doors to let them know what I was doing while standing on thier porch. Most times I would just knock lightly and get done and on my way. There were times though in rural areas where I drove up driveways way back in the woods 1/2 mile or more and dogs would chase me, I have even had someone let thier dog loose on me once. People do not realize the census workers are just temp empolyees getting info. They associate you will the government agencies that they are so upset over. It really is ashame. This is just a man who was trying to earn a little money to pay his bills.
