I agree, Marilyn, I don't think either President has the songs commissioned for him.
But throughout the years there have been many songs dedicated to people other people feel are inspirational or whatever.....Elton John sang that song for Princess Di, Carly Simon sang the song that could have been about Mick Jagger or Warren Beatty depending who you listen to.
I am not sure why there is such an uproar. I do not remember even hearing about when the song was sang in Pres. Bush's honor nor when the song English Rose was sang for Princess Di. Why is there such an uproar now. Is it hard to believe that there are people who admire or are inspired by Pres. Obama?
No need for anyone to answer this question as it is a rhetorical one. I already know the answer from those people who listen for Nazism everywhere or wear their little tin foil hats.
