I am not sure why there is such an uproar. I do not remember even hearing about when the song was sang in Pres. Bush's honor nor when the song English Rose was sang for Princess Di. It's rather simple. You don't change the lyrics of a religious based song and sing it in school. Substitute George Bush and tell me it would have been ok a few years ok? Elton John, Carly Simon, etc... have nothing to do with this. They are entertainers and they can sing whatever they want to. This is SCHOOL we are talking about.
