I have these throughout my house and love them. I don't have the dim problem, sound issues or size issues.

The dim problem is so quick that you don't even notice it in the ones that I have bought. (many brands)

The sound does not occur in mine

The sizes-they come in all sizes and even shapes like the old lightbulbs. They also come in different wattages. They have many kinds at Lowes.
