.
A tip of the hat for this GDA (Good Deal Alert).

I boogied on Sunday, 10/11/2009 because some of my $6.00 off coupons were expiring on that very day.
I ended up filling my shopping cart with 15 of the ‘purple’ scent.
+
At the checkout, the cashier scanned all 15 and when I was about to present her the 15 $6.00 off coupons, she hesitated to scan them.
It is the old ‘one coupon per purchase’ gyration.
She actually walked away from her register and headed for the Customer Service Desk for an answer waaaay at the other end of the line of 25 registers.
There were people behind me in line, some about to have kittens.

Long story short, the coupons where accepted.
$90.00 = $6.00 x15
$06.98 = 7.75% sales tax on $90.00, which was my out-of-pocket expense
Sweeet!

My point was that my shopping cart of items was a transaction and not an order.
In fact, right on the WalMart* receipts is a line:
ST# OP# TE# TR#
• ST# = Store number
• OP# = Operator number
• TE# = Terminal number • TC# = Transaction number
+
Again ...
What you are paying for at the checkout is a 'transaction' and not an 'order.'
+
The cashier and the head cashier apologized but I bit my tongue said n-o-t-h-i-n-g.
Really, anything you say will be taken in the wrong way.
Silence is golden!

I am seriously thinking of laminating my receipt … as proof positive.
