I've never contacted them before...but I've "lost" tons of points before because the codes were totally impossible to enter. After numerous attempts with every possible letter/number combination that I think they printed I get a rejection, so I've tossed so many in the trash and never considered calling or emailing since it would be only 10 or 20 points or so at the time....
But I'm so glad I was able to recoup all those "expired" points. If this happened to you, please contact them even if it has been a long time.
