It takes a few weeks for flu shots to actually take effect so it is possible to get the flu right after getting the shot.
DH and I have gotten the flu shot and will get the H1N1 shot aso as we both have health issues. | I have no issue with the regular flu shot, but I will not take the H1N1 until it goes into its second cycle.
