About 2 months before our 18 1/2 year old cat died he was diagnosed diabetic and I had to give him shots twice a day. Most days he came to meet me at the refrigerator to get the shot--strange! A bit of advice, and ask your vet about this, but when his sugar got high/low (I'm not sure nor can I remember) our cat had seizures. Our vet told us to give him some Karo syrup and that would regulate his sugar; it did, both times. If your vet agrees you might want to keep some on hand along with an eyedropper or needleless syringe. Best of luck to both of you.
