I think your best bet would be to go to a lawyer ASAP for just a consultation. There are ones out that specifically deal in Seniors and this type stuff. I am thinking he (new Husband) could probably even try and take your hubby's name off as POA if he talks his wife into it. Some people in love do funny things. I have seen things like this happen in my relation, and they got away with it. They deemed the lady sane-depends on who you get to say that and she signed over POA to another niece. I surely wouldn't fiddle around waiting, as if she does have anything, he could go through it all fast. I handled my grandmother's and am glad I did or she wouldn't have had anything left to see her through till she passed. I don't see how some people can sleep at night knowing that they deliberately go into trying to scam elderly like you see on the news, etc. I would feel I was definitely going somewhere warm when I passed on! Good luck in whatever you do.
