All year long I buy up cellophane bags (after holidays) for cookie exchanges and mailing cookies.
I pack the boxes to be mailed with air popped popcorn, they've always gotten places in good shape (I also undercook them a bit if they'll have more than a 2 day transit).
One dozen cookies fits nicely into the goodie bag sized cello bags, I usually find pkgs of them
(8-12 per pkg, usually) for about 25 cents. St. Patty's Day and Valentine's Day usually yields lots of good Christmas colors.
