I made this sweet potato casserole one year, probably will again this year. I got it off another board I go to.

CRUST
1 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup flour
1 cup chopped nuts (pecans preferred)
1/3 stick butter -- melted

SWEET POTATO MIXTURE
3 cups mashed sweet potatoes
1 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 TBSP high quality bourbon - non-drinkers can use vanilla, but just use a teaspoon. .
2 eggs -- well beaten
1 stick butter -- ( 1/2 cup) melted

Preheat oven to 350°

Mix brown sugar, flour, nuts and butter in mixing bowl until crumbly - you know -that whole pastry thing? Do that.

Mix sweet potatoes, sugar, salt, vanilla, eggs and butter in your stand mixer or by hand if you're a hard core kitchen rebel. Pour mixture into buttered baking dish. Top with your crumbly nutty goodness sprinkled on top.

Bake for 30 minutes until GBD golden brown delicious

It's better if it has time to cool.
