I don't think it is whining to point out that current policies allow honest sellers to be abused.

Sellers do pay a nice premium to eBay to sell their items. On average, you spend 30% of the selling price on eBay and PayPal fees.

For that price, eBay provides little service and opens you up to extreme risk. You can easily lose your item as well as the money you were paid when an unscrupulous buyer commits fraud.

International transactions are particularly risky because you cannot get the same delivery confirmation you can in the US unless you pay a fortune for expedited airmail services. If they claim they did not receive the package, you automatically lose.

I am not selling as much anymore but have sold for over 11 years. I do everything I can to protect myself and automatically insure all packages to help prevent some problems.
