I have many wasp mounds of sand in my front yard. Last year I paid an exterminator $200 to rid of them But they are back. I really don't want to spend that kind of money again. Please if anybody has a working idea I'd appreciate your input!!

What we were told several years ago from Earl May Garden Center, and it has alway worked is wait till dusk, they will probably be in their hole by then. Pour the insecticide seven or eight down the hole and cover it with something reasonably heavy, like a childs truck or anything to keep the hole covered so they can't getout. there will be two holes, an entry and an exit. Treat them both. Look around sandpiles, the edge of driveways, sidewalks etc. You will see a mound of dirt much larger than an ant hill. That is the entry or exit. Look for the second hole. Do this nightly for two or three nights to make sure they are all dead. We have also used gasoline when we were out of seven or eight. Good luck!! They always come this time of year and are very annoying. First we were told they wouldn't sting, but later found out they will and not just once but many times, so don't mess with them.

In case you're searching for the insecticide, I think it's Sevin, not Seven.
