| Two questions about kitchen things
Did you ever use a cast iron pan on a ceramic cooktop stove? My book doesn't really say and I never used one, but wish I could. Afraid to try, unless someone else did with no trouble. We have 3 small cuts in our linoleum. Is there something out that could coat the cut to flatten it out? One time I tried glue in one crack, but it came off the next time I scrubbed the floor. Any suggestions at all would be appreciated. I was afraid to try nail polish, as I thought it might eat the coating off the linoleum. They aren't at places where I could use a throw rug. |

es, I have a ceramic smooth top stove with Halegen burners ,for over ten years and the cast iron holds the heat once it is hot so you can turn your heat down I use med (5) for most of my cooking , if I need to boil water for potatoes I use 9 until I see it bubbling & then reduce heat to 5(med) I have 3 cast iron skillets I use, & also visions sauce pans they all work great and cleaning just use soft scrub & if something spills use a utility scraper to scratch off the residue & clean with soft scrub & rinse . ___________ Last edited by MapleLaine; 04-11-2011 at 05:39 PM. |

I had a ceramic top stove in my last house. I used cast iron and canned on it with a pressure cooker every summer with no problems. I hated it, though. I went back to gas burners in this house. Lisa
