Time for the garden

What has everybody planted this year and how many new people are planting with the price of everything going up on the stores on account of the gas prices? I have planted peppers, tomatoes, onions, beans, colorabi, potatoes, squash, watermelon, pumpkins, bird house gourds and rutabagas.

I planted 5 varieties of lettuce, 3 varieties of tomatoes, and 3 varieties of bell peppers. This is my first year gardening, here, so I wanted to do a smaller test garden. I wanted the lettuce because we eat a lot of salad and I hate how ridiculously expensive lettuce is. I hope to get a huge bell pepper crop, too. Red, yellow and orange bell peppers are ridiculously expensive, too. I hope to have so many that I can slice and freeze them to use, later, in fajitas.

Next year I will add cucumbers, yellow squash and zuchinni

We had a weird spring with cold temps, then blazing hot, then cold again. I got a late start, but planted tomatoes, peppers, and ornamental gourds. I am also experimenting with turban squash.
Have no idea how that will go, but we'll find out!
