How do you vacuum your stairs?

I am soooo tired of lugging the big vacuum out to do the stairs but nothing else works . . . What does everyone use ? ? ? I was thinking of buying the "As Seen On TV Swivel Sweeper" but I hate to waste money on more junk. Anyone have a Swival Sweeper ? ? ? Most cordless vacs just don't have any power and I need power, I have really messy kids.

Yep. I either use the dyson (once a month to REALLY clean) or my cordless vac (Eureka Cordless Quick Up). The cordless has good power

I have the swival sweeper and it does work on carpet. However it doesnt do a thorough job like a vacuum does. I can sympathize with you on sweeping the steps since I live in a 2 story home and that is one of the worst jobs for me.

My mother used to brush each step..yes with a brush to get all the dirt down to the bottom of the steps and sweep the one dirt pile. That actually made it easier on her instead of lugging a sweeper up and down.

I have the Dyson Animal that I use. We have a staircase and and 1/2 in the entry foyer. The extension rod on my dyson make it up 1 1/4 flight of stairs. It really does a great job

God the stairs are a pain in the neck. I have a Kirby and it is God awful heavy which I find a drawback

That's how I do it (or make the kids do it ;-)
Just too much of a pain to use a vacuum. I also put on a rubber glover vs. sweeping/brushing cuz it picks up the plethora of pet hair from where the steps meet the risers as well as the dirt.
