I use soft scrub on mine, then a Mister Clean MAgic Eraser sponge. I can't get the BLACK BLACK stains off, I think that is where the heat set it??? Not sure. Anyway, that is what I do, and my stove is very shiny ;-)

Is it a white enamel stove?..I'm trying to figure out what type a stain it is Is it a grease stain? I use bar keepers friend on the top of my stove....Make a paste and let it set for 60 seconds than take a sponge to scub it off... The next thing I would guess could it be from age and poor cleaners were used on it causing the enamal to wear off & etch the finish ..If thats the case no cleaner will help you..You would have to have it re-enamel to correct the damage I know when you have a tiolet that has been etch you can use a punice stone to get the grey stains off but I wouldn't suggest it on the stove top because the risk of scratching the finish...I only use this in the oven portion of my stove for heavy baked on stains but I'm real careful when I use it..I keep the stone wet at all times and wipe it extra good with a damp cloth to remove the grity particles it creates.. Allinaugust --If your talking about little black specks( that is grease that has set in from the heat.) If you use the above trick(bar keepers friend) you can get those little specks off the stove may require repeating the process and alittle elbow grease on your part but they will come off...Just be cautiouse not to scrub too hard causing it to scratch the surface..I had move into a trailer and the stove was terriable..... I was cleaning that stove for 3 straight days..When they owners saw the stove they asked me when did I repalce the stove? I reply I didn't I cleaned it!

If it isn't a ceramic cooktop, not sure what to do since I only have a ceramic cooktop!

The stove is only a year old, but I did run out of that white cleaner, and forgot to get any everytime I went to the store for a couple weeks so I did use fantastik oxy on it for a couple weeks I hope I didn't ruin it, but I have a feeling I may have |

My stove (whirlpool) came with a bottle of ceramic top cleaner. it is different than soft scrub. Not sure if soft scrub would damage it, I've never tried anything like that before.

I have a white white ceramic cooktop, and the best cleaner I've found for it is the ceramic cooktop cleaner made by Whink. I've found it at Meijer, I think if you check their website you can find stores in your area that carry it, or you can order it online. It makes it VERY easy to clean up the stains - if stuff is burnt on, I just rub the cleaner into the burnt spot and let it work for a couple of minutes, then easily rub it off with a paper towel. The advantage to using the cleaner made for the cooktop is that it works sort of like waxing your car - when you clean and then buff off the cleaner, it leaves a protective coating on the cooktop that keeps the next spill from sticking so badly, so it makes it easier to keep clean. You might find some information on the manuf. website that will help, also. Good luck! Laura. |

I use a razor scraper to scrape off as much as possible then use Weiman glass cook top cleaner. It seems to work the best of all the ones that I have tried. http://www.weiman.com/products/kitch...ss_cleaner.php |

Is it the flat top with no burners?? I have one of those and there is a special cleaner that you can get at Publix or WalMart. It comes in a white bottle with a gold cap. (I am sorry that I cannot think of the name.) ALSO, at Target they sell a flat plastic scrapper for it. Just apply the cleanser, let it sit and then either wipe it or safely scrubbit off with the plastic scapper. My oven did not recommend any household cleaner except it. This has gotten off stains that I never did think would come off or had been on there for a long time.

I don't know if it comes in white, but they do sell an appliance paint for stoves. Dh used it when he bought his first place and the stove was old and basically a disaster. The paint cleaned it up beautifully! But it was an older stove, so maybe the newer ones can't be painted on.
