Winter drying in very cold temps is not very efficient. You would do better to spread clothes about your laundry room and let them air dry for a while before popping in the dryer for a short time. I'm also not sure that outdoor drying removes germs. Why would it? There is pollution in the air and that would affect clothing, yes? Not to worry. I love drying my clothes outdoors in summer. Heres to hoping the groundhog was right. Sure doesn't feel like it now....................... |

I've always heard you could dry outdoors in the winter, but I don't see how it could work. I would think it would take longer if they froze--they'd have to thaw out and then dry??? I stick to keeping them indoors. I don't know about germs on fabrics, but I was told not to grow veggies too close to the road due to contamination. I would think those same things would get on the clothes? Granted, I live in town so maybe a "country" person wouldn't have this problem. Though, to be honest, I've never had a good experience with the "fresh" scent from drying outside. Too much livestock around here for "fresh" lol--and sometimes my clothes smelled like it!! |
