Question can wedding gown train be removed

DD did not want a wedding gown with a train.

Unfortunately, the wedding gown she fell in love with has a train

But I'm wondering if it would be possible to have the train removed? The train does not have any beading or anything on the bottom of the train and it is not very full.

Anybody have any thoughts?

If it is a dress someone is making for her, yes. I had this feature on my wedding dress.

In my town there are several seamstresses. I am sure it you checked around, someone could take the train off. Even ask at the place where you bought the gown, they probably know seamstresses that do alterations.

I guess it depends on the train, but I would say 'yes', it can be removed. In fact, I had the train removed from my wedding dress. I got the dress at a closeout sale for $300 and it was exactly what I wanted, except the train. My mom took it to a seamstress to do the alterations and remove the train.
