What do you know about tankless water heaters?

These seem to be growing in popularity.
Do you have a tankless water heater, or know any pros or cons?

Thanks!

We have a tankless water heater. We have had it since October. We have absolutely no complaints. Small, clean box on the wall in the garage, takes up minimal space. Hot water all the time. I have taken a shower while the dishwasher or clothes washer is on and no problems. I can run multiple appliances at one time. I could not do that before. Also, one shower after another and with 4 kids that comes in handy! Never run out of hot water, never wait for hot water. This is one of the best things we have ever purchased!!

Our hot water tank is small and 20 years old. We are planning on replacing it with a tankless. Ihe initial cost will be more but I think in the long run we will be very happy.

Okay, here's the deal.
Unless you have a place for it (garage, far off laundry room or maon part of house,,etc. ), and if you are noise sensitive, skiop it. These puppies are noisy.
Otherwise, these suckers are the best things since sliced bread.

We priced one last year for our house and with all the electical and installation it would of been around 5 grand, I am not prepared to spend that on a water heater but I have heard nothing but great things on these my sister in law has a OLD one that needs replacing and she said even though hers is bad
its still ticking.

We put one in our house when we built back in 2000. We've had a few problems with it such as the mother board going out and the temp. regulator going out 3 times. The company has always stood behind their product. It was inconvenient to be without hot water for a day or so! Other than that, we LOVE it! We've always got hot water. The unit is in my son's extra storage closet. He's never complained about any noise.

we got quoted for one and it was around $5K. Our house is only 1.5 years old so it would really suck to pay that kind of money when our regular tank is fine. Once we have to replace, we will do tankless.
