Stain Remover for Vaseline on carpet?

Hello everyone!

My daughter decided to get creative on the carpet and spread a jar of Vaseline all over it. Now I have a couple of big gray stains on my beige carpet that look horrible. I tried various stain removers, carpet cleaner, but no luck. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get those stains out? Thanks in advance!

Olga

Do you have a steam cleaner???

First, I would scrape up what I could. Then, try to absorb what else you can with paper towels. I would try a little bit of laundry soap mixed with water, in a spray bottle.....spray it on there, and suck it up with the carpet cleaner upholstery attachment-hoping you have that. Keep doing that, should help. Be sure to follow up with a few good rounds of just plain water to get all the soap out.
