It is SO Frustrating when you do everything you're supposed to and still end up losing in the end.
I was selling items on ebay, now I find out that ebay has REALLY CHANGED!
Buyer decided after having the item for 50 days that they didnt want it and filed a dispute on ebay and paypal. WELL, RULES HAVE CHANGED!
Paypal decided in there favor,,,(because from talking to MANY different trust and safty managers THEY HAVE to decide in the buyers favor now) *no matter what reason they may have!* so read this carfully everyone because this will happen!
oh, you can file a appeal,(but UNLESS you have signed docs WITH witnesses(verified WITH a notery) as to condition,(they also have to see it packed,shipped etc) you WILL LOSE! oh and can take up to 120 days!
1. I get charged the listing fee,(have to pay it)$2.15
2.I get charged the auction percentage% (final value fee) (have to pay!)$14.00
3.I have to pay the shipping cost(I charged shipping, but NOW you have to pay ALL MONEY BACK!)$37.85
4.Paypal socks me $ for the REFUND I HAVE TO GIVE!
*so after all of this,
I get the USED *NOT NEW as it was,* back and am out a TON OF MONEY and CANT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT! (seller protected NOT!)
so out $57.00 and received a used NOT new item back!
So everyone now at ANYTIME within the 60 days a BUYER can use,destroy,copy,abuse,and RETURN the item you sold them NO MATTER what your auction says about no-returns etc. SELLERS LOSE N EVERY WAY NOW! (basically they are saying, a buyer for any reason is covered, and WILL receive a refund NO MATTER WHAT.... then if you want, you may file a dispute (which you WONT win! Ebayers and ALOT of them are now realising this and taking advantage of it ALL OVER!!! NEVER AGAIN will I sell, BUT....
as paypal and ebay say(in NON-QUOTED) DIFFERENT WORDS!(if I buy) I can use it for up to 60 days and then get my money back......
In the last month thinking it was a fluke, I have lost more than 500.00 because of people taking advantage of the NEW way they work.. NOT FAIR!
oh DID I mention that depending on what LIE they say to return it, ***YOU CAN NOT RELIST THE ITEM!! EVER AGAIN!!!!!OR YOU WILL BE KICKED OFF.....
so nope cant even sell it as used now!, or ANY part of the item sold If they return it broken!..Yes I have talked to one of the Highest on ebay and Also paypal this is the way it is now! Keep in mind it took days and days talking to many mnay different people on both paypal and ebay to get thr REAL ANSWER!

I feel your pain. I recently had this happen with a Burberry scarf I had authenticated at the store. Went round and round with the buyer who decided to ask questions AFTER the auction. She even got in a bidding war with another person. after she received the scarf claimed it wasnt real and filed a complaint. During the whole investigation process she became unregistered on Ebay and even changed her email like 3 times. Had a feedback rating of 1 and it was over a year old. I have been on Ebay for 10 years and have a feedback of over 900 and they are 100% positive. Well the girl won the dispute and she received her funds back, even though the scarf was authenticated thru a local Burberry store. Ebay really is with the buyers now and they are going to lose all the sellers. I have tons of stuff piling up that needs to be sold but I am very leary of posting anything on Ebay.

my opinion is dont do it! its just not worth it, i wish I new what I know now!
it seems like it is a 50/50% that a claim will be filed, which is not right and in any way the seller WILL LOSE! they say that on there site sellers are protected, they are NOT! only *protection is if you send it del confirm to say it was accepted)**
then any time they want they CAN RETURN IT IN ANY CONDITION THEY SO CHOOSE! WE LOOSE........ we pay, they get tons of money, we get scammed,we get back broken/missing/etc, we get neg feedback for untrue things THAT CAN BE PROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BUT NO ONE CARES WHEN THE SELLER CAN PROVE IT IS REAL,NEW/ETC. as long as they return it, they get there money back.
I'M WAITING to see if anything else happens from the other few auctons had that were weeks ago!
oh,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I REALLY HOPE NOT! THIS IS COSTING ME A FORTUNE.....

I wont sell ever again, i just thought a little extra $ from things "I didnt need,or could live without" would be nice, but its not.....
say and you cant go to a garage sale buy something and decide a few weeks later you dont want it after using it! or EVEN A STORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My biggest complaint with ebay is that you can't give a negative to a buyer that deserves one. I'm seeking another avenue for selling what I would have listed on ebay. ebay is killing themselves with all these unfair rules for sellers.

Sorry you had so much trouble with eBay but I stopped selling there in April when I joined Bonanzle. eBay fees were getting so high, no customer service to speak of and no protection for sellers.

Now if I could only dump Paypal but it seems everyone is using it. I'm pushing Revolution Money Exchange (RME) to try to get away from Paypal but so far not many people use it.

I also recently posted a thread regarding an issue I had with Ebay. I had a buyer who tried to force me to change the terms of the sale (demanded S&H for 5 books be reduced from $6.00 to $3.00 ) AFTER they won the auction and threatened to leave their "concerns" in my feedback if I didn't.

Ebay originally supported me and called it feedback extortion and then later decided the buyer could do whatever they wanted to. It's the last time I'll ever list anything on Ebay for sale. Sorry you had similar problems.

I wish their unfair practices would draw some negative media attention.

Ebay has really changed and that is why I quit selling there.

I agree with Mommyof2QTs! Check out selling at bonanzle.com. Things are much better there than on ebay! Lots of ebay sellers have already made the move to bonanzle!
