Paypal question

I bought an item off Ebay, paid thru paypal with the invoice the seller sent. Now the seller is telling me (sent me an email to my email addy, NOT thru the Ebay messaging) he gave me his wrong paypal email, apparently he has 2 paypal emails and he says he can't get the money I sent him because of having 1 bank account tied to the other email he has (which is where the $$$ should have been sent). I told him I did not feel comfortable re-sending him the $$ (so he'd have 2 payments from me) and then waiting for him to refund one payment. He sent me another email begging me to please do this for him, he is 100% trustable...needs money to buy the wife an anniversary gift (how do I know there is a wife???) blah blah blah. Oh and he keeps promising that if I do this, he'll send me some free stuff.

Would you re-send the $$ (it was a large amount) and hope the seller was honest or should I tell him he has to deal with paypal to get his money? I would think they would be able to help him get it with no problems.

Please help! Thanks!

dont send anymore money, if its the wrong paypal addy, then have him refund your money, refuse payment. and once you have the money back then send it again. Dont make double payments. and if you went through ebay and it brought you to that paypal adress to pay, he should have changed that with ebay. no matter what he says. good luck

He claims he cannot refund the money I sent to the one email, because his other email that should have been used is the one with the bank account attached to it. Claims he has to set up another bank and for whatever reason doesnt have time.

I will not send any more money, if he figures it out and refunds my money, than I will be more than happy to re-send the money to the proper account. But until then, I have paid and my end of the obligation is taken care of.

If it is in the wrong account he can select the refund option and it would go right back to you. It does not automatically go into his checking account when he receives a payment. He has to manually request it be deposited.

If you tell Paypal you didn't receive the item, your money will be returned after the seller cannot prove delivery of the item to you.

I have 2 paypals and can send money from one account to another using the gift button so that there are no fees. I too have different banks tied to each, plus its sent immediatly. I would not send him 2 payments

If he's got time to email you repeatedly, he's got time to process the refund.

File the claim and get a refund.

Give seller a negative for not handling this.

If seller files NPB, appeal giving the Paypal transaction number to prove you tried to pay.

It all worked out in the end. He got the bank accounts switched (or whatever he had to do) and everything is taken care of. Glad it's over, thanks for all the advice!!!
