Hi all, I am so mad right now, I was high bidder on some multi lots on ebay and since the person would not combine shipping I sent him messages and even called him on the phone and told him I was paying for each lot 1 at a time and that I expected him to ship them one lot at a time, well they all came in 1 box today and the box was all torn up, now the lots are all ok but he only paid less than a third of what he charged me in shipping, is there anything I can do besides leave negs? Thanks, cooky |

He should have shipped them separately, but if you didn't clarify with him ahead of time about a shipping discount, he wasn't required to give you one. Consider this... Say you are a seller, and you are going to have about $5 in expenses wrapped up in completing a sale, and decide to pay yourself a $5 handling fee to cover those expenses. eBay's rules won't allow you to come right out and say, "I am rolling my eBay fees into a 'handling charge'," but they do say you are allowed to add a handling charge that is 'reasonable'. *What* you do with the money you collect for handling is your business - you just can't *say* what that is. So... you have three auctions running. The items will each cost $12 to ship, and you have added a $5 handling fee, thus the rate is $17 s/h for your customers. When all three items sell, you will recoup $15 to put towards your eBay expenses. If one person wins all three auctions and wants shipping combined and to just pay actual shipping, you, the seller, lose money because you don't collect that $15, total, in handling fees. It's much better for the seller NOT to have to combine auctions much of the time. How much money are we talking about here? Is it significant? |

Hi, Ok this is what it was.......lots of 3 DVDs and I got 6 different lots. Each lot had $3 shipping, ok so I won 6 so I thought maybe he would make it like $8 for shipping all of them, since he did not say he would not combine shipping, after closing I sent him a note asking about combining shipping, he declined, so I said fine, I will pay for each lot seperately and I wanted him to ship each lot seperately, I even sent a note on each lot when I paid to ship each lot seperately. He boxed them all together in one box and shipped them that way, charge to me for shipping was $18. He shipped them all for $4.33. And the box he packed them in was a oversized box and it broke apart in shipment, it didn't damage anything but its just the idea that he put them in such a weak box and paid so little to ship them and then charged me $18 shipping fees. Thanks, cooky |

Since you paid for EACH lot seperately and TOLD him to ship them SEPERATELY then that's what he SHOULD have done. I REALLY hate sellers that scam like that.
