Personally I'd accept her request and let it go. It could be that she made a mistake and no longer has the item or its been damaged. Or yes, she could want more money. But odds are, regardless of her reasons - if you try and force her to complete the transaction you're not going to be happy when its all over. If they wanted to they could always ship you a phonebook and use the tracking number to prove to paypal that they sent it to you (shrug). Your only other option is use the contact the seller button on ebay and ask her politely - why?

I did get some more information. Seller claims thatcustomer already picked up item and she no longer has it. I think she sells items for other people and the customer is the owner of the painting. So, she says that there was nothing she could do with the auction since it had less than 24 hours until it ended. I bid on it in the last hour of the auction. I have never experienced anything like this, and I am upset that she operates like this. It's mind-boggling that she has over 3000 transactions with 100% positive feedback, if this has ever happened before. So, I am guessing that there's no way that I am ever going to get the item. What kind of feedback does she deserve?

Based on her feedback overall, I would be inclined to say it's an isolated incident. You'd want someone to cut you a break, so I'd do the same, at least publicly. Nothing is stopping you from emailing her and asking her for an explanation. She doesn't have to give you one, but you certainly deserve one.

I have had it happen several times for various reasons. Some were that they were not happy with the price. One complained that they had misspelled the name so they wanted to relist it and get more money. I had already paid. Unfortunately, eBay let them get a way with relisting the item.
