The Online Auction Color Chart - very cool

This is one of the coolest inventions I have seen for online auctions yet.... Of course y'all probably already know about it - I'm usually the last to know.

I was searching for fabric and in the description the seller states "The color is an iridescent green, OAC 135 Online Auction Color Chart" - I had no clue what that meant...

Then I found this... http://onlineauctioncolorchart.com/

Why didn't I think of that...

How will this work? All your buyers have to buy one of these charts & keep it by their computer while shopping? Is there an online version you don't have to buy?

I can't see many buyers out there having the charts to be able to see what color you mean.

I wouldn't want to purchase that. Just do a search on HTML color and you will find tons of pages that show colors that could be helpful.

Wow, I think this is a very good idea as different monitors show colors VERY differently and having shopped online for clothing and fabric in the past, am sometimes VERY surprised by the *actual* color of an item!...

Having a paper to look at once told what color an item is may make it less questionable as to what color an item *actually* is.

I probably won't buy one anyway (!) but think it is a good idea!

Owner of the Online Auction Color Chart Chimes In

Hi There,

I am the owner of the Online Auction Color Chart Company and just came across this thread. I wanted to mention that pictures of the entire OAC are shown at my web site and can be accessed by anyone who wishes to communicate with another party.

The Online Auction Color Chart - Pictures of the OAC

The problem in relying on the digital images is, all monitors differ a little in their representation of color. So, yes, this is one reason buyers and sellers have charts on hand.

I will also add that the OAC is used by all kinds of people now, not just online auction partcipants. For example, the OAC is being used by mushroom scientists to communicate about the color of fungi and mosses, which is super-cool. I just sent 100 Online Auction Color Charts to mycologists in Australia.

Anyone who has posted ALREADY about the OAC (here) can contact me for a FREE Online Auction Color Chart. I will even cover shipping! Send an email to orders@OnlineAuctionColorChart.com and reference this site and thread.

Lisa
