Sneaky Tactic!!

I bought an auction for books off ebay, the seller ends up not even shipping them until about 5 days after auction ended, i paid right after i used the buy it now. So when i get his email that my package is going out 'today' 5 working days after i had paid i was a bit po-ed. I had expected to be recieving the books, not waiting on media mail yet again!

So i get the package a week later and inside the package he included 2 additional books of the same genre by a different author as a bonus..

So sneaky, i couldnt even say anything about his untimely shipping after that heh

Sneaky tactic, but it worked on me to give him all 5 stars lol..

ya i know, im easy..

Ebay gives at least 7 days to ship out, I don't and many others do not wait that long but that is stil considered excellent service.

I always keep things on hand to throw in as extras if I can. I ship fast though, so you really are just getting something extra.

One of my best and most memorable purchases was for a lot or Dora pj's a couple years ago and the seller put in some books and puzzles with them. It muct have cost her more to mail all of that and my daughter was THRILLED, she still plays with those.

Yeah i know the 7 day rule for paypal, but that is a paypal policy so sellers dont wait weeks to ship His auction said mailed within 2 business days of payment recieved so thats why i was a bit put off by the extra 3 days at first

I would have been upset as well. I have had that happen in the past.

My seller obviously found out that he did not have the book in stock??? I don't know; he had a LOT of sales going and maybe didn't have a good inventory count???

Anyway, it was a diet book that took him a week to ship (I was using a borrowed copy from the library until my copy came in!) and then he used Media Mail. By the time I received the book 3 weeks later (!), I was no longer interested in the diet!

I could tell that something happened on his end but he never contacted me (and also didn't add any cool freebies like yours did!!!). I gave him a Neutral.

I think that a Positive was a good call in your case and yes, that was sneaky of your seller!!! I also think that good communication is key... no matter the excuse, let your buyers know what is going on.
