Unhappy Ugh...comments please!

I recently sold an item on ebay to a brand new (0 feedback) buyer. The item was movie ticket vouchers. The auction explicitly states the total value of each voucher and that its good only on Universal Pictures (but I do state that what they do once inside the theater is up to them). The information about only being good on Universal Pictures is the first sentence in the auction.
So, this buyer says that he didn't know that part and is asking for a refund (even though he hasn't yet paid) because he wants to see an Batman at the local IMAX...and that he rarely goes to see movies, so he really isn't interested in using the tickets to see anything else....which is weird because if he just wanted to see one movie then why did he buy six tickets from me?

Anyway...just looking for some advice on the best way to handle...especially now that sellers can't leave negative feedback to warn future sellers. My first impression of this guy is that he is a careless buyer and is unaware of how his actions affect the seller.

Ok...suggestions please???

Does your auction say NO Returns? Mine always do....... I would let him know how the auction was stated and he should have read the terms better.............. I say no returns.
Good Luck

Hey Irish, thanks for the quick reply. I always make sure I don't check the returns box when creating an auction. Doesn't that mean that I don't take returns? Or do I have to explicitly state no returns?

I am not sure, but I do say in bold.........NO RETURNS.

I would just tell him, that your policy is no returns and he should have read the auction more closly.
Everything is stated in the auction.
He may get mad but he is a new buyer........ so ............ he is out of luck. I bet he has been on ebay before and had alot of negative feedbacks, and just got a new name.

He hasn't paid yet?
I would do a mutual cancellation and get out of this sale. Just isn't worth it to 'force' him to pay when you'll end up with time wasted and probably bad feedback.
With the new feedback system, I run quickly from any buyer who looks like they will be trouble.

Hey all,
Just an update....
I waited him out...I give three days to pay and then sent a message asking if he planned to pay or if I should contact ebay about nonpayment. I also explained that sellers have to pay fees, etc so backing out of an auction because he didn't fully read the information wasn't fair to the seller.

He profusely apologized and paid! Yea!

Thanks for all your help and advice!
