I tried to put the info in at paypal, but it still tells me to put state and zip

I am confused.....

do i need to fill out a customs form, and where do I get that?

Can someone guide (step-by-step) me on how to print the label for shipping?
Do I do it the same as my "regular" labels......

and you do need Customs form 2976-A if the package contains merchandise.


You might not actually be able to use PayPal. The last time I tried it would continue to give me an error message.

In the place of state you would use AE or whatever the buyer gives you and they should have a zipcode.
My DD was in Iraq for 15 months and I could never use PayPal to pay for postage.

I shipped one just the other day. APO was in the city and AE was in the state (paypal automatically filled these in for me since it was an ebay transaction.) You absolutely do need the customs form. It didn't automatically generate it like it does with other non US addresses but I had some regular forms here and filled one out.

So, I just attach the form to the package? (where?)
And it is okay to stick it in my corner receptacle, like my other "regular" packages? The package I am mailing is very light - a small bubble envie.

I just went to paypal and found this:

* Customs forms are not required on First Class Mail International items that: Weigh less than 16 ounces and do not have potentially dutiable contents; weigh 16 ounces or more and do not have potentially dutiable contents; and are entered by a known mailer.

but then, it says this:

Mail going to an APO / FPO containing merchandise All values~~> Form 2976-A

I spoke to the person I am shipping this to

She said that it is actually going to california but will still need to fill out a small green label...

she said price and everything else is the same as if shipping "regular"

One possible gotcha.

Since the item will be delivered by the military there will normally be no delivery scan.

You will lose if a nondelivery claim is filed with Paypal.

If item is valuable, you may not want to complete the transaction.

I called paypal

A supervisor from paypal checked out the transaction from his computer - he said that according to the address it is going to, it is US territory and doesn't need a customs form - he said if it did, it would have printed along with the label. He said because the address printed with the FPO on it, that means it was accepted as a US territory and that is paypals way of "embedding" it on the label as such...

The person I am shipping this to said it is actually going to go to california


Saturnfan - the item is very very inexpensive....and the package weighs like 4 oz...
