who else bought the kitchenaid mixer from Wal-Mart?

I have wanted one for 10 years and was so proud that I got one of the eight they had ... only to find that it must be a special model they made just for the blitz. It comes with a flat beater (WTH do you use that for???) only. I have been looking for the wire whip and the dough hook and can't find squat because the serial # doesn't "exist". I think I outsmarted myself AGAIN by getting a "great deal".

I use my flat beater 99% of the time.

but yeah, Walmart has some contract with vendors where items are made specifically for Walmart. I bought a Kodak camera a few years ago at a great price only to find out it was a "made for Walmart" model when I had issues with it and needed support.

KA has great support and I suggest calling them Monday for assistance in getting accessories. By the way, their website also contains a forum where you can talk about your appliance, get recipes, tips, and other info. And the KA staff does answer! Just google the site address. It is easy to find.

The flat beater is used for mixing so that is the one you would use the most, the wire whisk is for adding air to things like egg white, I have never used mine.

Can you take a picture of how your flat beater attaches so we can see if it is a standard Kitchen Aid attachment?

The flat beater comes with all Kitchen Aids I think. You use it more than the wire. I only use wire for egg wipes otherwise you will twist and tangle it.

I also use my flat beater the majority of the time but I really like having the wire beater and the dough hook. I'd love to get the shredding attachment and a bunch more :-)

It's this one: KitchenAid K5THCB Coated Flat Beater - QVC.com

I ordered the hook and the whisk. I really wanted to make pizza dough, that's why I initially was so miffed. I can see how the flat beater would come in handy!
