The are the best things ever invented.
Plain and simple. Better than a tape, more reliable than a vcr, it is wonder DVR. Comes into the house mascarading as a normal cable box, its powers are beyond belief.
Image being able to record all of your favorite TV shows every time they are on, whenever they are on, and then watching them whenever you want. 2 am heartburn and nothing on good to watch??.. check the dvr, chances are there are another one of your favorites shows waiting to be watched...
Another bonus is...this small button that has two >> on them.. FAST FORWARD means NO MORE COMMERCIALS!
We also learned the '15 minute' trick.. meaning if you are watching a hour show wait until 15 minutes into the show to start it.. and you can fast forward all commercials and still end at the same time people who have sat there for the whole hour (and all the commercials) do.
What does that extra 15 minutes mean? It is time to put all the dishes into the dishwasher, change loads of laundry, a quick shower or time to read junior and juniorette another story (or the same one a 10th time). Figure in 5 shows a week that you can do that and you have added an additional ONE HOUR 15 MINUTES to your week.. if you watch 10 shows that is an additional TWO and half HOURS!
Wow.. when you put it that way .. it is like adding more time to your day, 15 minutes at a time.
I love my dvr and can't imagine or remember my life before it.
