Crocs

Such simple shoes. I never would have thought that they would mean so much to me.
We have a young girl at Karate.I will call her Emma. Emma is the kind of girl that is shy and quiet very poliet and very insecure. But I have fallen in love with this child. She was severly abused by her mother and now her father has custody. Emma is being raised by a wonderful man. She is just turning 12 and you can imagine all the confusion that her Dad is going through. I could not imgaine my husband having to raise our daughter alone. So anyways I see Emma almost everyday and I would hear her say everyday to all the other kids and Moms that wore crocs. "I like your crocs ma'm. They sure are pretty" Now this happened everytime I saw Emma. Finally, Friday I called my husband and I said Emma needs crocs and I am going to buy them. My husband of course said let her Dad do that. I asked him what he thought of crocs and he said they are a waste of money but our daughter loves them. I asked my husband would he have bought those for my daughter had I not. He said absolutely not! I said that is why I have to buy them! So my husband says ok. So I went to the store that sells crocs and I purchased a gift card and I wrote in the card.....but I did not sign it. I had a very good friend of mine hand the card to her. She of course was tickled and curious. But she was not as tickled as I had been to see the look on her face. So anyways a few days later I received a Thank You card that has made my week. I would like to share as this card brought tears to my eyes!
When Emma opened the evelope and found the certificate she was stunned and asked"Why would anone give this to me?" I immediatley answered without thinking and told her "I haven't the slightest idea." No one outside of our immediate family has ever done anything like this and I was as shocked as she was
We have met so many nice caring people at this karate school that it is impossible to guess the identity of the person who has been so generous and considerate. You have forever affected the outlook of a young child (and her father) that the world is a nicer place than we ever imagined. Since you are anonymous, we can only hope to repay you by being as nice to other people and making the world a nicer place for you to live in. ---From my heart Thank you and God Bless
Now I do random acts like this all the time. And in all my years I have never received a Thank you note that made me feel like I made a difference. Afterall, this was only a pair of crocs. I wasn't buying groceries or a car for them. Just a pair of $29.00 shoes.
So this is just a reminder to all of you to go out and do something nice for others and you will not believe the reward you get.
