Pesky Past Owners...

I swear I live in a house that is still inhabited by the previous owners. At times, the smell of perfume is overwhelming, and sometimes (like now) the smell of cigar smoke and broiled mushrooms seems to overcome my senses. Now the people who did live here didn't do anything wierd like drink goat blood, or hide dead babies in the basement. They were just a nice old couple who raised their kids here, ran a corner grocery store, and then like all old folks do-passed away (in the hospital thank God!), leaving me to purchase this beautiful old home that they loved and cared for, for over 75 years.
We've had some "occasion" to believe they've showed themselves on film a few times-prom pictures in the foyer, and Holiday pictures in the Living room always seem to produce a few signs..Orbs in the pictures, or a misty white haze in back of the Christmas tree makes me wonder why they choose to stay around here instead of hanging out with St. Pete at the golden gate. It gets wierd when the dog acts like someone else is patting him on the head (when no one else is in the room but me), or when strains of soft irish flutes can be heard near the house when we are outside in the gardens, when they know I'd prefer to hear Mario Lanza or Enrico Caruso..
Oh I'm not the only one who has felt them here..everyone in the house has had their own experience with them. So as crazy as I may be, I'm certainly not nuts..

I hope these people like me, because they get see me everyday-cellulite and all exiting the shower like the fat kid in a high school locker room on swim day..Maybe they are having a good chuckle at my expense, or maybe they don't even notice us and continue living their afterlives here in my hallways..well, I guess it could be worse..it could be my mother-in-law in the extra bedroom...Better yet, I think I'll take the ghosts..
