Tips from a freebie addict.

Yes, I am a freebie addict. I love to go to my mailbox daily and see what exciting new products are waiting for me to try.
Here are a few tips I use on my quest for free sample and free stuff I find on the internet.
1. I always use a seperate email for my freebies. This is in case I stumble upon one of those sites that look legitimate but are really email harvesters. That leads me to my next tip.
2. If it looks too good to be true, it probably is. Who doesn't want a free LCD television, digital camera, $500 shopping spree or laptop? I do. But, it ain't going to happen. The sites that promise all sorts of great high priced freebies are more than likely email harvesters waiting to fill you inbox with all sorts of spam email.
3. Check out the site before signing up. Read the terms and conditions. If a site is offering a freebie and I am unsure of the company I usually click around to see if it is a legit company. Find out about what the company does, what products are offered and even though those pesky Terms and Conditions are boring, check them out anyway. When I am posting a freebie in the Just Freebies Forum Just Freebies - 'JF' - MyCoupons.com Shopping Boards, I do try and check out the site before posting, but sometimes I just want to get a post out before the samples are all gone. I am human.
4. Don't be heartbroken or surprised if you don't receive a certain freebie. Sometimes it happens. There are very consistant and reliable companies that send out freebies. Most of them are larger corporations. But, I am always very happy when I receive a freebie from a smaller company and quite often go back to their site or pick up that product at the store. By all means, if you like a sample purchase the full size. That is the reason companies send out freebies. Often you will also receive coupons with the sample.
5. I also try to be an "ethical" freebie addict. What I mean by that is I hold myself to certain standards. I never request more than one sample. I want everyone else to get in on the fun! I don't request a freebie that I don't need or want...or anyone else I know needs and wants. It is just wasteful and pointless.
Every day when I check my mail, it is like finding a small treasure chest!
Good luck on your quest for those freebies!
